Golfers and philandering walk hand in hand, apparently. All those tournaments away, constantly on the road and out of the media’s scrutiny, encourage illicit dalliances.
Over a decade working as a golf correspondent, I attended the men’s U.S., European and Australian tours every year, and learned that – with the exception of drugs and alcohol – everything that happens on your average rock tour, including whores and groupies, occurs in golf.

This perspective is nothing new. Golf has always benefited from its closed off nature. Players perpetuate a fraternal atmosphere that is almost impregnable to those on the outside.
