The battle between two teams at the top of the Western Conference produced a quality match with Real Salt Lake coming out of the affair as the victors.
The Secretary of Defense couldn’t prevent the beautiful strike from the Armenian international, Yura Movsisyan, as he buried it into the top corner.
The goal gifted Salt Lake three points and brought them even on points with the Rapids at 43 points.
Colorado has been struggling since the arrival of Tim Howard from Everton in July and with only two wins in their last 11 matches dating back to the middle of June.
Fortunately, the Rapids are still firmly in a playoff spot, but a continued poor run of form could see them lose out on the Supporter’s Shield spot (like anyone actually gives a shit).
