Ben Roethlisberger hopes his kids choose golf over football

Quarterback for the Steelers, Ben Roethlisberger, joins an elite group of athletes who hope their children play golf.

Football has received a bad rep for concussions and as a full contact sport, many athletes hope their kids are not exposed to the kind of injuries that come with that.

Roethlisberger was on the Dan Patrick show this past Wednesday, when he said that he will support his children in anything they wan’t to pursue in life but he hopes they’ll turn to golf.

“I will encourage my kids to do whatever they want to do and love to, whatever it is,” Roethlisberger said. “Hopefully it’s golf, though.”

If they do choose to play football like their dad, he’s not letting them play until 5th grade!

“My only thing is I will not allow full contact until fifth grade. That’s when I played. These kids playing in first and second grade seems crazy to me.”

Roethlisberger is no stranger to golf and Trump recently came out saying that he “killed a tree” when he played with him.

“He once hit a shot that went dead right into a tree. It was a massive tree like this. The ball hit the tree so hard I swear I said, ‘Ben, within two years, that tree is gonna be dead,’” Trump stated. “And you know what? Two years later, I should say this because we have — have a lot of tree lovers here. But two years later, that tree was dead. He is a strong guy and he’s a good guy too. Big Ben.”
