Mario Balotelli continues to write his own script in France, with six minutes of what can only be described as vintage ‘Ladotelli’.
Step one, score a worldie; step two, make the schoolboy error of taking shirt off and get carded; step three, engage in a ‘head-off’ with opposition, and get second yellow.
Balo started the exhibition with this screamer, taking the Italian’s tally to six goals in five games; a solid return for the renegade.
It was a crackin’ strike from the No.9, and turned out to be the winner for Nice, which puts them in charge of Ligue 1 having collected 20 points from 24. It helps that PSG are about as useless as the rest of the league without star striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
But, when is the ex-Liverpool man going to learn? Scoring a worldie, doesn’t give you licence to take your shirt off, and expect it to go unpunished. The striker received his first warning following the celebration, and then got in a spat with a FC Lorient, which led to the maverick’s second yellow… doughnut.
Balotelli's red card seems a little harsh https://t.co/L0EV7YaR2d

Saying that, Balo doesn’t actually go full ‘Alan Pardew’ in the dispute, so the yellow card seems harsh in reflection.
Regardless of Mario’s strong form in France, there is still no place for the striker on the national side. Italian coach, Gian Piero Ventura, hasn’t included the Nice man in the 26-man squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Spain and Macedonia.
Balo can therefore engage in a long rest following a good start to his new club, we’ll see what post international qualifiers brings, but with Balo, we’ve come to always expect the unexpected.
