Zlatan Ibrahimovic is one of the most divisive figures in world football. The Manchester United striker is known for his brilliant ability, cocky remarks and tendency to talk about himself in the third person.
“I can’t help but laugh at how perfect I am.”
Some people love him and others hate him, but the one thing you can’t deny is that he always manages to get a reaction out of people. This has become even more obvious in the last few days as UFC fighter Danny Roberts has remarkably challenged the Swede to a fight.
This isn’t the first time we’ve had the UFC and football overlap in the media, with many past fighters talking trash about the prima donna nature of top players. Heck, even the other day Dan Henderson went for a tour of the Etihad and looked like a deer in the headlights throughout the entire thing.
Anyway, the fighter in question in this instance is London-born Danny Roberts. The 29-year-old has been a part of the MMA powerhouse for nearly a year now and holds an impressive professional record of 13-2 with his comments, as reported by Metro, coming in the build-up to his UFC 204 clash with Mike Perry.

“If he’s willing to fight I’m here.
“Yeah I’d like to see him in the Octagon, see what he’s got.
“At the same time it would probably add a little bit more value to us and what we do.”
Unfortunately for Roberts he wound up losing his clash with Perry, which suggests he might have been better off focusing on the legit MMA fighter standing across from him in the octagon as opposed to a 34-year-old professional footballer.
Still, with the amount of training ground bust-ups and controversies that Zlatan has been involved in over the years he might just be mad enough to give it a try one day. When he isn’t busy kissing a framed picture of himself, that is.
