It seems that lovers of the beautiful game are in for a treat this season. Ater Leicester City’s amazing fairy tale, beating the 3000/1 odds and winning the coveted and the ever-so-competitive Premier League title last season from the hands of the giants of the EPL.
This season emerged a new contestant, searching for their own fairy tale triumph. No, it is not OGC Nice (although they might be up to something over there in Ligue 1) however, RB Leipzig seem like they are going full speed for that Bundesliga crown and not even my beloved Bayern is going to stop them. At least that’s what it looks like on paper.
Like Leicester last season, RB have been newly promoted to the first division. However, they’re the first to remain unbeaten in their first seven matches.
RB Leipzig are the 1st newcomers in one of Europe’s top-five leagues to remain unbeaten in their 1st 7 matches since Millwall in 1988/89.

RB Leipzig bring excitement and surprises to the Bundesliga, this season, and are currently two points behind Bayern’s 1st place. If we look at stats we find that RB has the second best defense (after Byaern) in the league, conceding only 5 goals in 7 matches. After scoring their 12th goal today, they are now after Bayern (18 goals), Dortmund(17 goals), Mainz(14 goals), Hoffenheim(13 goals). RB are now joint with Köln and Hertha Berlin on 12 goals, making them the fifth best attacking power in the league.

Dubbed the “most hated club in Germany”, their story might not seem as inspiring as Leicester City’s. For the first time since 2009, East Germany has a club in the Bundesliga. But, not everyone is celebrating. Why you might ask? The club, backed by energy drink producer Red Bull, have climbed from the fifth division to the first in the span of just seven years. SEVEN. For some they are the ultimate modern success story, a breath of fresh air in a sleek kit who might one day break Bayern Munich’s hegemony. However, for others, they are the betrayal of everything German soccer stands for and hold dear. Tradition, identity, and most importantly the fans’ ability to have a say in the way their club is run.
FT: Wolfsburg 0, RB Leipzig 1. The newly promoted Red Bulls’ unbeaten streak continues as they move up to 3rd in the league. Amazing!

Could this be the team to repeat Leicester City’s incredible run from last season, despite the dominance of Bayern in recent years? Only time could tell.

You can love them or hate them, but you can’t deny the quality of RB Leipzig…and they are YOUNG, not made of expensive EPL-type signings

Newly promoted RB Leipzig, the most hated team in Germany, just went 1-0 up at Wolfsburg to go second in the Bundesliga. Madness.

Here’s the formation that worked the magic for RB Leipzig.
4-2-2-2 around Demme.
Lots of GK passes too.#passmap pic.twitter.com/E8SGjJhO3w— 11tegen11 (@11tegen11) October 16, 2016
