WATCH: Anderson delivers knockout punch to teammate during training

To say Anderson’s career has, errrr, nosedived since leaving Manchester United, would be a pretty big understatement. The Brazilian has a CV full of red cards, penalty misses and the minor detail of a gas mask since joining Brazilian side, Internacional.

The midfielder was actually substituted after 36 minutes and required the gas mask in his early days at the Brazilian side ?. What was Louis van Gaal feeding him at Carrington?

However, it seems that the ex-United man has gone one step further, by fully knocking out a fellow player in training.

It is genuinely a hit that Conor McGregor would be proud of; one strike, one blow. Boom. Fair play, pal. It took what looks like, Tim Howard’s younger brother, to calm the incident down.

We have no idea why Anderson reacted so angrily, and the player on the receiving end, was U23 Brazilian, William. The ex-Man United man has since been suspended from the club, and is now waiting for a call-up from the UFC board… decision pending on level of fitness.

Sadly, for Anderson, the 28-year-old is no stranger to being banished from the first XI. The midfielder was dropped for 10 games running, after putting in a shocking performance in August, against local rivals, Gremio.

Anderson was taken off at half-time after contributing to the side being five-nil down, and the bloke received threats from the fans Monday morning. Ouch, not how you want Monday to start.

This spat in training is another sad case, contributing to a poor period for Anderson post-United era. Once dubbed a real prospect, now looks set to make further career digression.

Back to the drawing board, mate.
