Real Madrid’s defending in the first-half of their second-leg Copa Del Rey clash with Sevilla, suggested they weren’t fussed, at all, with breaking arch-rival, Barcelona’s 39-match unbeaten run – more to the point, that perhaps Danilo was in fact an undercover Catalan player.
Reminder that Danilo played every minute of every Real Madrid defeat last season…

But, like any true invincible, Los Blancos dug deep and Karim Benzema snatched a rather under appreciated goal in injury-time, to earn Madrid a draw. And in turn, overcoming Barca’s team of 2015/16’s incredible run.
The XIs will be the envy of any manager out there. And imagine if you could combine them? They’d probably go unbeaten from now until the end of time!
The strength in depth the two XIs would have, is just ridiculous. All the players who didn’t make it – apart from Claudio Bravo – had valid reasons to be included.
The full XIs of each record-breaking team – based on most appearances – is below; we’d love to hear who you would choose:
Barcelona: Bravo; Alves, Pique, Mascherano, Alba; Rakitic, Busquets, Iniesta; Messi, Suarez, Neymar.
Real Madrid: Navas; Carvajal, Varane, Ramos, Marcelo; Modric, Casemiro, Kroos; Ronaldo, Bale, Benzema.
