Games between two sides in the British Isles always add that extra level of excitement. In tournaments like the World Cup or the Euro’s, it’s nice to see the teams from Britain doing well; but when qualifying, the friendly rivalry goes out the window.

As well as a guaranteed work ethic – the team isn’t actually that bad. It may not have stars all over the pitch, but it has solid players where you need them.

Given how much England let the fans down regularly, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Lions lose to this combined XI One thing hasn’t changed though, and that is that the majority of the team’s success will depend upon Gareth Bale.
