Kikis And Amazing Prepare To Prove Their Credentials In The EU LCS’ Ultimate Clown Fiesta

The 2017 EU LCS Spring Split presented one of the competitive scene’s worst ever series, as a struggling Team ROCCAT and a hopeless Origen floundered around summoners rift for a painful 167 minutes of League of Legends. The Summer Split is now preparing for the showdown between the Ninjas in Pyjamas and Mysterious Monkeys.

Ninjas in Pyjamas and Mysterious Monkeys have willingly carried on the EU LCS’ tradition for hosting clown fiestas. Just as both Origen and Team ROCCAT fought for a victory that would provide an invaluable lifeline for relegation survival, Mysterious Monkeys and Ninjas in Pyjamas will scrap to put their first win on the board.

The two EU LCS newcomers are bottom of their respective groups, each sharing and 0-5 record after the opening four weeks of the split, 0-10 in individual games.

Having brought former Fnatic jungler Maurice “Amazing” Stückenschneider and top laner Mateusz “Kikis” Szkudlarek into the ranks, MM will be hoping to establish daylight between themselves and NiP at the foot of the table.

With two veteran upgrades on board, the German newcomers may have significantly improved their chances of survival. For Amazing and Kikis, the matchup against the Ninjas will provide an opportunity to both exact revenge and prove their credentials as EU LCS competitors.

Amazing and Kikis are amongst European League of Legends most seasoned players, yet both were made suddenly redundant upon Ninjas in Pyjamas’ acquisition of Fnatic Academy at the end of the Spring Split.

The duo’s return to the EU LCS has provided a glimmer of hope for the Mysterious Monkeys. The chances of MM upsetting Fnatic were slim, though the reshuffled squad showed significant signs of improvement.

As expected, Fnatic swept the Week 4 series comfortably, 2-0. Yet, unlike in previous series, the monkeys were by no means a push over. MM contested every objective on the map and pushed Fnatic to the end in both games.

Both Mysterious Monkeys and the former Fnatic Academy duo will be hoping to re-establish their reputations against Ninjas in Pyjamas. The German outfit head into the match up as favourites and will need to claim victory in the Summer Split clown fiesta to stand a chance of EU LCS survival.
