AC Milan have continued to make waves in the summer transfer market by securing their fourth signing of the close-season, securing the services of highly-rated Portuguese striker Andre Silva.
The 21-year-old caught the eye with a sensational breakthrough season at Porto, scoring 16 goals in 32 league appearances and continuing his fantastic scoring record at international level as he boast seven goals in eight caps – including Portugal’s third goal during Friday’s 3-0 victory over Latvia.

Widely regarded to be one of the best up-and-coming strikers in European football, Silva has been heavily linked with a move across Europe and AC Milan’s capture of the youngster is a sensational coup – especially as a £35m deal is significantly less than Silva’s £53m release-clause.
Silva becomes Milan’s fourth signing of the window, following the additions of defensive duo Mateo Musacchio and Ricardo Rodriguez, with highly-rated midfielder Franck Kessie also joining on a two-year loan deal from Atalanta.
The signing of Silva is a huge statement of by AC Milan as they seek a return to the top of Italian football and the figure for Silva is the second most expensive signing in the club’s history, behind only the addition of Rui Costa in 2001.
With the young talents of Silva, Kessie, Alessio Romagnoli and Manuel Locatelli, amongst others, Milan have all the makings of a side that can return to the summit of European football and fight-back after a disappointing few years.
Knocking Juventus off their throne certainly won’t be easy though and even securing a Champions League finish is a challenge, as Milan will face competition from the likes of Inter, Roma, Napoli and others.
Silva’s addition should certainly help them though and he can be crafted into a deadly striker, with the deal significant for AC Milan as the 21-year-old also presents tremendous resale value in the future- which is big for Italian clubs as they lack the finances to rival sides from the Premier League and La Liga.
