Tony Finau is officially the longest driver in the professional game. Fresh off the back of his first PGA TOUR win at the Puerto Rico Open, “Big Tone” is at -4 and tied for 3rd after the first round of the RBC Heritage. He became the first man to drive the green on Harbour Town’s par 4 9th hole since 2003. Not a surprise when you hear that he’s averaging 315 yards off the tee this year.
That’s a 330 yard drive, almost entirely on the fly. With Jason Day in the field it will be interesting to see if he can match this feat going into the weekend.
His swing is completely dependant on his athletic ability, to hit the ball that far without going past perpendicular is very rare.

The last month of golf has confused our assessment of who hits it the longest. It’s almost like Jason Day can crank it up when he wants to, whilst Bubba can hit slightly further just not as often. I mean just wow Jason! You might take all “Day” to play but you can sure teach the ball a lesson from the tee box.
Wait, how far did you say!? ???? ????

When you’re talking about athletes on the golf course you can’t leave out Dustin Johsnon.
