Sergio Garcia hooked his drive on his 36th hole, minutes before the horn blew to signal the end of Friday’s play. With an impossible lie and an even worse stance, Sergio chopped his ball back onto the fairway. He then proceeded to knock his third shot 51 feet left of the pin, a sensible shot considering the risk he had taken moments earlier. From there it seemed certain that he would two-putt for a well earned bogey on the 468-yard hole, but the Spaniard had other ideas. Canning it from way downtown, he capped off one of the greatest par saves we have ever seen!
Sergio is tied for 3rd at two under par after his first two rounds, 3 shots behind the leader Lee Westwood.
It was all very reminiscent of one of golf’s great artists.
