Someone has edited the USGA’s Wikipedia page and it’s glorious!

The USGA deserve every bit of abuse they’re receiving for what happened at Oakmont yesterday. Dustin Johnson was treated appallingly – again – by the governing body for American golf. Many have called this an A-47 to the foot of an archaic institution that are incapable of running a professional event. luckily these officious jobsworths were saved enormous embarrassment as DJ completed a gutsy back nine to ensure the one shot penalty made no difference to the final result.

The response from one fan was pure genius as they edite dthe USGA’s wikipedia page to say Dustin Johnson was the current owner. The page also states that the USGA: “Creates the rules of golf but doesn’t actually know the rules themselves.”

The worst thing about this entire saga was the mealy-mouthed response from the USGA as they tried to defend thier incomparable ineptitude. As Hank Haney suggests, they need to take a long look at themselves.

Social media responded, as it can, with some brutally humorous put downs of golf’s once respected institution. Jordan Spieth, Rickie Fowler and Jordan Spieth were universally damning in their assessment of the situation.

Who do you think deserves Player of the Week from the US Open? It doesn’t have to be the winner. Out of the athletes listed below, who do you think stood out from the rest because of an insane shot, huge putt or their overall style as they played the tournament? Cast your vote.
