LPGA golfer Natalie Gulbis, spoke at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland to promote Trump for POTUS.
Everyone knows that Donald Trump is involved in the golfing world and Gulbis was someone directly affected by his presence there. She says that with Trump’s help she was able to start her Boys and Girls Club and he taught her to be fearless against female discrimination.
‘Ronald Reagan said, “Status quo is Latin for the mess we’re in.”
And while I believe that this is the greatest time to be a woman in the greatest country in the history of the world, I have no delusions that there isn’t a mess to clean up and we desperately need someone to clean up this mess.
That person is Donald Trump.’
It’s interesting to me that Gulbis would mention Reagan, as there are many similarities between the two men.
Reagan was an actor before he turned to politics, and although Trump is mainly known for being a businessman, he is also an actor.
Reagan was a democrat in his early years and then became more conservative over time, not unlike Trump, who has voted for democratic president’s in the past and is now the Republican candidate.
Reagan came in to presidency in a time of economic turmoil, as Trump would be. Some say his policies favored the rich, which is a concern for many about Trump as well.
One major ironic difference is that Reagan challenged the German leader to tear down the Berlin wall at the time and now Trump is trying to build one.
The parallels between these two historical men are hard to ignore and Natalie Gulbis’s placement of Reagan’s name was surely thought through.
