Jim Furyk shoots the first 58 in PGA Tour history

Jim Furyk has become the first player in PGA Tour history to shoot a round of 58 at the Travelers Championship in Connecticut.

The owner of the “worst swing on Tour” slotted home 10 birdies and an eagle to shoot a 12-under-par round. Jim clearly has low scoring in his DNA, partly due to his precise iron play and distance control. He was already a member of the exclusive club of players to shoot 59 on the PGA Tour, and now he finds himself with the outright record. His career is proof that you don’t need a pretty swing to get the job done.

Despite this phenomenal round, Jim finds himself four behind leader Daniel Berger, who is yet to start his round.
