Fowler’s 400-yard drive.
Just the way he planned it. ? https://t.co/Z9KTfLdToU

Rickie Fowler is in desperate need of Ryder Cup points at the Sedgefield Country Club. This piece of luck will have helped the American no end. Having birdied the first 13 holes, Rickie pulled his drive on the par five 5th. It was very similar to Louis Oosthuizen’s colossal 500-yard drive a few years ago.
Fowler is currently 12th in the Ryder Cup standings and will need a good couple of weeks to get one of the top 8 qualifying spots. The Barclays next week will give him a chance. He is clearly desperate to make the team, he wasn’t scheduled to play at Greensboro, but the need for him was greater than realised. His bogey-free 67 was a step in the right direction. Come on Rick!
