Robert Allenby completely loses the plot on Twitter after another arrest

Robert Allenby had been on a year-long hiatus from Twitter following his infamous Hawaii “kidnapping.” His account of that fateful night is full of irregularities. It really is a case of his word against ours, which can only have one winner. The Australian makes our list of biggest Tour Douchebags, partly because of a ridiculous tantrum with a former caddie.

His character came into question again last week when he was arrested at an Illinois casino shortly after missing the cut at the John Deere Classic.

According to a WQAD report: Allenby was arrested around 2:30 a.m. and booked into the Rock Island County Jail shortly after 4 a.m. He was reportedly charged with disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing. And his bond was set at $1,500.

The timing of this latest saga gave sports fans an excuse to compare him with the disgraced American swimmer Ryan Lochte. The similarity stems from his story about being bashed, drugged and kidnapped in Hawaii, and Lochte’s “gunpoint robbery” in Rio.

What followed was a toxic display from one of the most unpopular golfers in the world…

Allenby repeatedly shooting himself in the foot…

He continued to pick fights with multiple users, including PGA professional Aron Price.

It was borderline deranged from the 45-year-old. As soon as Twitter got a sniff, he was trolled from every corner.

He missed the cut at the Wyndham Championship in North Carolina at the weekend, ending his US PGA Tour season with 21 missed cuts from 23 starts. His career has nosedived since the kidnapping incident last year and his immense unpopularity will mean the invitations eventually dry up.
