WATCH: Predictably, Beef Johnston went on safari in South Africa

The international traveling roadshow that is the Andrew “Beef” Johnston (can we just drop “Andrew” at this point?), arrived in South Africa for the European Tour’s Nedbank Golf Challenge.

And, because he’s Beef Johnston, he couldn’t just lay low in the southernmost portion of the African continent, as you can see from this post from his Instagram account.

So cool and lucky to go on safari in South Africa. Wouldn’t mess with these 2

And if you’re hungering for more Beef in the bush, Golfing World did a brief interview with the cultural phenomenon.

And here he is bagging a lion for the camera roll. How meta!
I can hear the comment-section humorists clicking away with jokes about ground zebra meat burgers. And of course, those with overflowing self-belief in their cleverness, points will work in Johnston’s sponsor, Arby’s.

“Call Arby’s, Beef. New menu item: Classic zebra n’ cheddar! LOL.”

That sort of thing.

Since he is, you know, a golfer and all, you might be wondering how Beef has been playing recently. The answer: not too bad. Beef, the No. 83 golfer in the OWGR, arrives in South Africa on the heels of a tie for 22nd at the Turkish Airlines Open with a tie for 47th at the strong-fielded WGC-HSBC Champions prior to that.

He’s 22nd in the Race to Dubai rankings ahead of next week’s (European Tour) season-ending DP World Championship in Dubai, where the odds are 2-1 he’ll post a picture from a camel race.
