Japan’s Prime Minister gave Trump the most expensive driver in the game

The improbable President-elect of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump, had a sit down with Japanese Prime Minister at his gilded vertical palace, Trump Tower in New York Thursday.

Based on a report from Golf Digest’s long-serving equipment scribe, E. Michael Johnson, Mr. Abe brought the goods, presenting Mr. Trump with a $3,755 Honma Beres S-05 driver (the unofficial weapon of the 1% of the 1%).

Damn! Bet you’re guaranteed to hit it further than Jack Hamm with that baby!

Johnson also reported (as though there were any doubt) that Abe elected to award the incoming Commander-in-Chief the gold-crowned, rather than black-crowned, Beres S-05. Because, well, if you’re the Donald…

The buried lede in this world leader mutual tugging session: Billionaire Trump got Abe a golf shirt, according to a Bloomberg report. A friggin’ shirt! He probably just grabbed it out of the pro shop at Trump Bedminster, where he’s been assembling his squad of cabinet members like some sort of extremist Voltron.

It’s like getting socks for Christmas when you were expecting something like, you know, a golf club.
