Tiger Woods officially returned to competitive golf today at the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas.
If you’re a true golf fan, you were probably glued to any screen that had Tiger’s face on it, whether you were at work or not. Even people who don’t golf knew that Tiger was returning today, and that means something.
Twitter blew up the moment he stepped up to the first tee, but the best tweets happened when he made it on to the leaderboard. A place he hasn’t been in almost 16 months.

Even though he fell apart a bit on the back nine, there was nothing like having Tiger Woods in the field. Every shot was magic just because it was him hitting them.
He ended his first round with a 73 at 1 over par. You can ridicule his swing all you want, you can say his back isn’t better, you can critique every breath he makes. It still won’t dim the light that Tiger brought back the moment he said he was returning. YASSSSS.
