The newest PGA Tour winner, 22-year-old Jon Rahm, has been getting a lot of love from other pros. The one that stuck out the most though, is from the one and only Luke Donald.
The PGA Tour posted a video of Rahm making his unbelievable monster putt for eagle to win the Farmers Insurance Open and Donald decided he needed to leave a snarky comment.
“I like big putts and I cannot lie.”
A play on words and quoting the influential Sir Mix-A-Lot? It doesn’t get much better than that.
Not only did he get trolled by Donald, he also received high praise from none other than Phil Mickelson.
Mickelson told reporters that he would only be partners with Rahm from now on because he’s never been able to beat him the few times they’ve played together.
“Every part of his game is a strength. I think he’s one of the best players in the world.”
That is a bold statement coming from someone who has been given that title for most of his career, is a five time major champion and will forever live in golf’s Hall of Fame.
Fellow spaniard Sergio Garcia tweeted his congratulations to the young winner, in what seemed like more of a Taylor Made plug than anything else. He did add a winky face though, so it was probably as much sincerity as he could muster.
Grande Jon! Welcome to the @PGATOUR winners club, pleasure to have you with us!!?? #1isNeverDone https://t.co/s0Yd8MMkFv

It’s been a great year for Taylor Made so far, with the addition of Tiger Woods (no matter how bad his Tour debut was) and early wins from young players.
