Andrew “Beef” Johnston has gained an enormous following since joining the PGA TOUR last year.
Beef was in Louisiana for the Zurich Classic, where he played in the reformatted team competition. Beef teamed up with fellow “Chef’s Cut” athlete, Kyle Reifers, as the pair participate in this innovative event. Beef’s preparation has been scrupulous as ever, and it was good to see him homing his putting skills in downtown New Orleans.
Beef challenges the entire bar to a putting contest and promises to buy everyone a drink. It’s good to see the Englishman plying his trade on the PGA TOUR and hopefully he can find some success. Beef has played in eight events this year, with one top ten and three missed cuts.
Beef qualified for the U.S. Open earlier this season at a qualifier. Let’s see how he fares at Erin Hills, and maybe he can secure a major title.
