The world was shocked early Wednesday morning when Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton to become the 45th President of the United States. While Trump failed to win the popular vote, he dominated the Electoral College, earning a stunning victory.
Trump, who has no political experience whatsoever, and whose campaign was marred by racism, sexism, xenophobia, and blatant lying on a regular basis, was still able to win the highest office in the country. Unsurprisingly, many NBA players were among the many shocked and horrified by the results of the election.
Like these players, many in the United States and around the world do not know how to process unbelievable results of the election. Regardless of political preference, we must try to come together and try to heal a divided nation in such frightening and uncertain times.
