T-Mobile, one of the world’s largest telecommunication companies, has announced its sponsorship of two of North America’s most influential eSports organisations, Team SoloMid and Cloud9.
The telecom giant will become the ‘official cellular data partner’ for the two organisations, with the synchronised timing of the announcements hinting at future collaborations with between the respective parties.
T-Mobile is no stranger to the eSports scene, having previously sponsored a number of eSports tournaments, including Twitch’s E3 fighting game tournament “Twitch Esports Arena” in June 2017 at the Staples Center.
Other companies from within the Telecommunications space have previously invested in the eSports industry, notably Vodafone, Orange and SK-Telecom; with SK-Telecom T1 still regarded as the best League of Legends team in the world.
Both Cloud9 and Team SoloMid expressed their delight at the partnership:

T-mobile will kick off their partnership with the two teams by organising a Q&A session featuring star players, Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg and Zachary “Sneaky” Scuderi.
