A formal World No. 1 and multiple-time major champion is returning to the competitive game of golf. No, not Tiger Woods (not yet anyways), but Greg Norman.
The shark announced via Instagram that he would be returning to the course with this comical video. Looks like his son Greg Norman Jr. (how creative), will be joining him for the comeback.
While some say this is not “hilarious”, if you didn’t chuckle at least a little bit at this goofy father-son video, there’s something wrong with you. I mean, how long do you think it took them to shoot this? This thought alone should have you doubling-over with laughter.
The two will be competing at the PNC Father-Son Challenge, which begins Dec. 13 at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando. Although the Australian has been focused on his various business ventures, including his highly successful clothing line, it will be nice to see the pro back in the thick of things.
He’ll be joining other father-son duos like John Daly and little John Daly (again, how creative). Other champions involved include Nick Faldo, Jack Nicklaus, Vijay Singh, and reigning champ David Duval.
A few days before the announcement, Norman posted a couple of telling videos and images that could have alluded to his return. One was a video of him practicing with the caption, “Baby steps on this long road ahead”, which could mean he’ll be doing more than just competing in a father-son tournament.
The shark’s profile is filled with motivational quotes, by him and other successful people, which surely helps him stay motivated. Even though the last time Norman played an event on the Champions Tour was in 2012, you can best be sure the Aussie will be ready to attack.
Not to mention Greg Norman has always been a fan of fitness, like Gary Player, at 62, he doesn’t need to prepare much to get back in golfing shape. Even with a broken foot, Norman is all about that work out grind.
Now that he’s healthy and ready to go, it’ll be an exciting time for golf to see the shark take the Champions Tour by storm.
