It’s coming up to what is being affectionately referred to as “boyfriend” season. The time of the year where we all want to couple up so we can have someone to snuggle up on the couch with and watch chrimbo movies. But do you need someone? Hell no! Here are some great activities when you went to take yourself on a date. So why not give Masterdating a try?
Take yourself to the cinema
Let’s be honest it’s a crappy date with someone else! But by yourself? It gives you a real feeling of luxury. You don’t have to worry about if the other person is enjoying the movie. You don’t have to share your popcorn and you don’t have to worry about laughing at jokes that may make you look like a douche.
Go to a museum or art gallery
Quite a lot of these are free, which is a real boon. It has the added bonus of broadening your horizons and making you feel more like an actual adult!
Take a romantic walk
With yourself! Sometimes it can be great to pop your headphones on and just go for a leisurely stroll through the countryside or along the coastal paths. If you get thirsty on the way pop into a local bar and prop up the bar and have a pint. You’d be surprised at how easy it is to get involved in conversations with strangers, or if you really need some company just borrow a dog!
Get yourself to Kaspas
If you are at a low ebb there is seldom a better cure than a gallon of delicious Ice Cream! Nobody really does this better than Kaspas with their yummy Sundaes, waffles and shakes. Why not go and treat yourself? And so you know, pudding before dinner is definitely a thing!
I’m not going to finish that heading with “chill” because I am well aware of the connotations of that phrase! However, binging on your favourite Netflix show is part of what makes single life so good. You don’t have to wait for your significant other to be around – you also don’t have to pause the show if they pop to the toilet. Snacks are good too! But for the more health conscious of you replace the bar of Dairy Milk with some carrot sticks and hummus!
Take a bath
When it comes to getting myself clean I would always choose a shower over a bath. It is simply minimum fuss! But in terms of relaxing and performing a bit of self-love (not like that), I swear by a bath. Light some candles, pour a glass of wine, put on some easy listening…Oh and bubbles, bubbles are a must!
Visit a spa
These are not just for girls. In fact, there is a lot to be said for rocking up to a spa by yourself. When you have an actual date you feel obligated to spend time with them. Which is fine until they want to leave the sauna after about thirty seconds when you were really looking forward to getting your sweat on!
Make a bucket list
There are some brilliant free apps you can use for this. There is seldom anything more life-affirming then planning what you are going to do before you snuff it! The apps tend to make suggestions as well for those of you who can’t think of anything more groundbreaking than seeing the Northern Lights
Invest in a snuggle pillow
You know those massive pillows that you use during pregnancy they do way less snoring than an actual partner and they don’t hog the covers. Feel free to contact us with your masterdating suggestions.
