SportsPro Magazine, the London based publication which touts itself as “the leader in global sports industry news, views, insights and features” has released its 6th annual list of the Top 50 Most Marketable Athletes in the world.
The good news is that five professional golfers made the list. The bad news is the list itself is a complete head-scratcher. According to SportsPro, 21-year-old Canadian tennis player Genie Bouchard, who hasn’t even won a Grand Slam tournament, is the world’s most marketable athlete (*looks up Genie Bouchard*).
Guess who’s not on the list: Tiger Woods, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Phil Mickelson, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady and Roger Federer.
So take SportsPro’s rankings with a grain of salt, or take it very seriously if you like. Either way, here’s the five golfers who did make the cut:
