Gritty Galaxy Playing Selves Back Into Title Race

Any trip to Portland to play the Timbers is a difficult one, especially at the moment with the defending MLS Champs on a nine game undefeated streak prior to Saturday’s matchup with the LA Galaxy.

Bruce Arena and the Galaxy didn’t give a damn about that and took care of business on the road in front of the Timbers Army.

Bruce was particularly fired up and let everyone know how he felt in the post game interview and what he had to think about the Galaxy haters.

We won the game. That’s what you do in soccer games. We were on the road in a venue where the team does pretty well at home. What are we complaining about?

Then some moron will write that they had more shots than us thinking that’s important. Actually, analytics in soccer, if no one here has figured it out, doesn’t mean a whole lot.

Strong performances from the backline and goalkeeper Brian Rowe helped LA weather the storm against a strong Portland attack with Diego Valeri pulling the strings from the number 10 slot.

The Galaxy is finding their stride with some of the league’s best players and that is dangerous this time of year.

With depth for the first time in a long time and the attack putting away their chances, the most hated team in the MLS is gaining momentum with 4 straight MLS wins.

LA is climbing up table and is now in striking distance of the Supporters’ Shield.

A good team gets points on the road; a great team steals all three.

If the Galaxy are able to build on this run of form, Stevie G might get himself a league title and the #RaceToSeis could be a real possibility.
