The only thing currently going right for the North London side, is their golden boy somehow predicting the future. Other than that, their summer recruits in Vincent Janssen is trying to do his best Memphis Depay impression in the Premier League, whilst Moussa Sissoko might will be on the first bus out in January. So, their exit in the Champions League isn’t actually all that shocking.
However, there are sometimes where eyebrows are raised Carlo Ancelotti style, which leads the world more shocked than the Old Trafford stewards were at the Arsenal game…
Barcelona, 2000/01
Absolutely shocking when you had the likes of Patrick Kluvert, Rivlado and Luis Enrique in the side; not that shocking when you find out Louis van Gaal was at the helm.

From the heroes to zeroes in the competition. Winning it the previous season, and managing to scrape their way in, even though they finished outside the top four. And, then crashed and burned out the group stages the following season. Still, they won the Europa League ?.

Just goes to show how truly shit Serie A is. Juve won the league this season by 17 points, but couldn't even get out of their Champions League group. No wonder Poglost found it so easy over in Italy.

Ukrainian side, Chornomorets, dumped the Dutch giants out in 2013. How a side which sounds like something I should have been studying at GCSE biology knocked the big guns out we have no idea.

Ok, to say this was a shock is unfair. The poor old French side were in a group of death with, Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal and Napoli. But, they didn't manage to pick up a single point in six games. Shocking. And therefore firmly in the list, as they aren't a bad team.

We're not letting LvG get off lightly. This has to be up their with truly one of the Dutchman's finest. In a group which had more donkeys in it than a Donald Trump Advisory Team, the Red Devils should have gone a whole month without wages not getting out their group last season.
